Continuous Variables

A variable is Continuous if it assumes any valid non-cardinal numeric value within its range (compare with Categorical Variable). In other words, the system treats as continuous even the variables with a finite number of discrete meaningful values (an example of such a variable is c201 -- Year when the firm began its operations).

To present continuous variables in the output of statistical procedures, such as One-dimension Cross Tabulation, Two-dimension Cross Tabulation or Frequency, the system breaks the range of each variable into no more than 20 intervals of equal length with integer break points, and the counts and percentages of the cases falling into each interval are displayed as shown in the example below.
